FAQ

Questions to check before uploading

Scribly lets you upload a photo and create a handwritten annotation image without logging in. These answers focus on the real flow before and after generation.

Which photo formats can I upload?

You can use JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, and HEIF photos. Browser preview support can vary, but Scribly prepares supported images before generation.

Which photos produce the best results?

Bright photos with one clear moment and enough open space usually work best. Birthday cakes, travel pauses, pet habits, and cafe tables tend to work when one short line can clarify the memory.

Can I upload documents or receipts?

It is not recommended. Scribly is for warm photo records, not sensitive documents. Avoid IDs, contracts, receipts, shipping labels, medical records, and internal company screens.

If I close the page during generation, do I lose the result?

The same browser can resume checking an in-progress job. However, browser storage clearing, expiration, or server changes can make recovery unavailable, so important results should be saved after completion.

Where is the finished image stored?

When you save the result, it downloads to your device. The browser may keep recent result history, and the server may keep files needed to serve generated images.

What if the AI result does not look right?

Dark or crowded originals can make the result feel noisy. Try a brighter photo, leave more open space, and choose a subject that is clear even in a small preview.

Can I use photos with other people's faces?

Private storage and public posting are different. If other people appear in the photo, think carefully about where it will be shared and whether they would be comfortable with the result.

Where can I report an issue or ask a privacy question?

Send generation issues, upload problems, and privacy questions to hello@scribly.xyz. Describe the browser, file format, and approximate time before attaching sensitive files.
